An Open Road

Like most people, I’ve had a lifetime of learning.  There has been traditional schooling, of course, but there has also been training classes, conversations with mentors, discussions with peers, and individual discovery.  The web provides us with a vast amount of opportunity to fulfill our promise as individuals to learn and to grow.

Knowledge is the base from which we can step off toward the goal of achieving our potential.  But knowledge alone does not guarantee success.  The knowledge gained must be put to good use and the key to using your knowledge in a positive way is confidence.  Each day, from the moment we wake, we should dismiss negativity and look ahead to the open road of possibilities that awaits.  Each of us has talent of some kind, and we should all work to maximize our individual talents by being confident in our ability to improve upon our situations.

Start the day with a positive thought and promise yourself that you will try something new.  Test an idea that has been brewing in the back of your mind.  Speak to someone new.  Don’t skip over that word that you do not know in the newspaper — look it up instead.  Smile.  Embrace the day, look toward the horizon, and be the best you that you can be.

Ray Colon has written 136 posts on Ray's Blog.

He works with numbers for a living, but don't judge - boring accountants need love too. His blog has no niche (unless writing about things that are important to him is a niche). Some folks cringe when he gets “all political” on them, but he does it anyway when he's in that kind of mood. Sometimes, he writes something nice about someone, but you shouldn't get used to that. His first book, the one he hasn't written yet, is not available on Amazon. Subscribe to Ray's Blog via RSS  or Email.

Send Ray an Email if you have a question. He may even respond.
