We Owe It All To Mom

I love looking at old photographs.  You can look at people, years removed from the taking of the photo, and see how they have changed over time.  You can look at the expressions on the faces and wonder what each person was thinking at the moment of the flash.  Old family photos are the most interesting to me.  Sometimes, I can hardly recognize myself.

My sister scanned this photograph of my Mom, my four brothers, my sister, my godmother and me from an old family album.

In it are (standing or being carried) Mom, Antonio, Madrina (Spanish for godmother), Malta, Raoul, (sitting) me, Radames, and Rafael.  I don’t know when it was taken, but my guess would be 1966 or 1967.

It’s been over 40-years since this photo was taken and, sadly, Madrina and Rafael are no longer with us.

My mom gave birth to six children and she worked hard to raise them.  She did a great job, and we will forever be in her debt.  Happy Mother’s Day, Mom, you are the best!
