The ongoing health care debate has been diverted away from actual health care issues so often that the public is no better informed now than they were when the debate began in earnest. The crooked path on which we have been taken has, more often than not, steered clear of moving toward enlightenment, actual decision making, or good governance. Instead, we are treated to an endless array of pundits who whoop up the masses with dire warnings of death panels, pulling the plug on grandma, Socialism, Nazism, and the like. It seems that, in this day and age, a lie revealed is no more than a green light to continue the folly — more people than one would think possible will adamantly believe the hype. Lost in the confusion is any real discussion of health care reform and what we, as a nation, should do to address the situation. Two of my recent vlogs attempt to redirect the discussion.

A high-level view of the health care reform debate.
Someone Decided to Make a Net
This is a response to DiCom’s video, One Man’s Opinion, in which I discuss the role of the individual and the role of government in our society, and the health care reform debate.
As American’s, we will all be affected by the outcome of the health care reform debate. In my view, in terms of public policy decisions, this is as important an issue as most of us will see played out in our lifetimes. Standing on the sidelines ought not to be an option — for any of us.
