Claws “N” Paws

by Ray Colon on June 19, 2011 · 6 comments

Yesterday, I was looking for something new to do with my youngest.

The usual ideas like catching a movie, playing mini-golf, or dropping by an arcade just didn’t seem fun enough.  It was already two in the afternoon, so that ruled out some of the options.  I ended up at the website for Claws “N” Paws, a local zoo in Lake Ariel, PA.  It was only 30 minutes away, so we got ready quickly and were off to see some animals.

We had fun and were able to see everything before their 6PM closing time.

The slides below change every five or six seconds, but if you find that to be a slow pace, you can click on the image to advance through the 26 slides.

What a fun trip where you made new memories with your daughter. Love her purple hair! Didn’t you tell me that your wife had a hair dying fiasco that turned her hair green? I’m guessing the purple was on purpose. Very cool. Happy Father’s Day!

Hi Tristan, yes we did. There weren’t too many people there in the late afternoon, so we pretty much had the place to ourselves.

That’s right, my wife’s hair issue was many years ago and it was unplanned, but Maritza’s is a fashion statement. I wasn’t crazy about the idea when she brought it up, but I don’t go crazy over that kind of thing — let her express herself, especially if it’s not irreversible. It’s grown on me though, so I like it.

Thanks, it was a happy day.

Love this.. such wonderful (and colorful memories). A few summers back, my daughter died her hair purple and my son’s blue. His grew out, her’s cost me a couple hundred to get died out (had to before school started). I figure hair is not as lasting as a tattoo.

Hi Brenda, there were many colorful attractions, especially the birds. Luckily, for the hair, there was no dye involved, just extensions. Good thing that I’m not a slave to fashion. It takes too much effort to be stylish. :) Ray

Thank you, nothingprofound.

I had a heck of a time sorting through and editing the 100 or so photos that I took with my iPhone to end up with these. The one with the green and red birds is my favorite. The yellow snake was huge! Ray
